Have you ever walked away from a human interaction and felt like your entire life force was sucked dry? I’m here to tell you that you aren’t crazy and there are several studies that support this belief. For lack of a better term, let’s call it Vamping (cue the creepy music)!
Vamping – The act of a human draining the life out of another human by way of basic interaction. (definition a’la Leslie)
A research team at Bielefeld University, under the direction of Professor Dr. Olaf Kruse, shows that plants draw an alternative source of energy from other plants. These finding can be found in a on-line journal titled Nature Communications published by journal Nature. Now before you start saying plants have nothing to do with us, think about this statement made by Smart Mind Magazine “….. like plants we depend on other sources of energy like sunlight, water minerals, food calories, and even oxygen, you would quickly come to realize how a lot more connected we are with the other living species that roam this Earth.”
Professor Dr. Olaf explains that humans mimic quite the same energy pulling that plants do among each other and in nature. It is believed that this scientific theory of energy exchange is only going to get more rock solid through the study of Bioenergy.
Further more, psychologist and energy healer Dr. Olivia Bader-Lee says that “The human organism is very much like a plant, it draws needed energy to feed emotional states and this can essentially energize cells or cause increases in cortisol and catabolize cells depending on the emotional trigger.” So it comes at no surprise when Bader-Lee goes on to state “……….(why) being around nature is often uplifting and energizing for so many people.”
So what are we to do when we are the victim of such Vamping?! I am no therapist but I know all too well this viscous cycle of being vamped (drained) and it has taken years to break such cycle.
I will start by saying knowledge is power. Learn to identify when someone is sucking your energy dry. Establishing boundaries with such people will be crucial or you will find yourself drained and empty. Likewise, learn how to shut it down right out of the gate. We don’t have to receive every package left at our door. It’s okay to avoid these people and yes folks that can come in the form of family. I mentioned last week that negative emotions have been scientifically proven to ruin your health. Start thinking of this as your very own survival and abandon the thought of you being selfish. It’s okay to protect yourself.
In conclusion, surround yourself with like minded people or people that understand that in order to be bright you don’t have to dim another’s candle. You are a powerful human – beautifully and wonderfully made! Claim your power. Love and peace xoxoxoxoxoxo LESLIE
